Qué Cometa Mi Estrella
Joan Manuel Serrat
What My Star Comets
What my star comets, what comets my star! - shining so brightly in the sky, it looks like a naked maiden.
The twinkling that hurts my eyes are her breasts when she leans over: if she turns the rock into a mirror, she fights in the fine sand. From my boat, I give the rope all its length.
And the clear, dozing wing of the heron that passes by and chirps. Oh, her pink and silver flank, and the braid that comes undone! To fly like a swallow in the wind! Friend's hair flowing freely! Friend of the sweet ankle.
- Like a sail climbs up, bird's loophole: if I reach out my arm, it wavers. Walker on the seashore prays for the returning sailors; if they see the comet dance, they die from so much sighing. Walker, come aboard my boat that is freed from pain but don't say a word if you don't want to lose your life. Walker, don't speak, no, as the swell approaches, and beware that love will take you - as the sailor already sighs. What my star comets, what comets my star! - shining so brightly in the sky, it looks like a naked maiden.
