Te Guste O No
Joan Manuel Serrat
Whether You Like It or Not
You may like it or you may not, but the fact is that we have a lot in common. Under the same sky, more or less blue, we share the air and worship the sun. We both have the same fear of dying, identical fragility, one heart, two eyes, and a similar sex, and the same desires to love and to be loved in return. You may like it or you may not, but luckily we are different as well. I have a wife, you have a harem, you cultivate the valley, I sail the sea. You curse in Swahili and I in Catalan... I'm white and you're like pitch, and, you see, I don't know if I like more about you what sets you apart from me or what we have in common. Whether you like it or not, I like you for both. The common comforts me, the different stimulates me.
We both have the same fear of dying, identical fragility, one heart, two eyes, and a similar sex, and the same desires to love and to be loved in return. Whether you like it or not.
