Bienaventurados
Joan Manuel Serrat
Blessed
Life is given to you but not given away. Life is paid for no matter how much it pains you. That's how it's been since God cast man out of Eden, for confusing what is right with what is convenient. Whether in installments or cash, life bills you, scraping and squeezing even the crumbs. For in every joy there is bitterness, every misfortune hides some advantage. Blessed are the fools who risk giving advice because they will be wise at the expense of others' mistakes. Blessed are the poor because they know, with certainty, that no one will love them for their wealth. Blessed are those addicted to strong emotions because lively times await the spirited. Blessed are the owners of power and glory because they can inform us of what's going on. Blessed are those who reach the top because the rest of the way will be downhill. Blessed are those who taste failure because they will recognize their friends. In any circumstance, however pitiful it may be, find a way to have a good time; despite how high the bar is set, jump with the intention of being happy. Blessed are the chaste because they have divine grace and the opportunity to change that around the corner. Blessed are those who love because they have within reach more than fifty percent of a great romance. Blessed are those at the bottom of the pit because from there on, things can only get better. Blessed are those who boast of their courage because they will have opportunities to prove it. Blessed are those who incurred debts because someone once did something for them. Blessed are those who are clear-minded because the kingdom of the blind belongs to them.
