Cada Loco Con Su Tema
Joan Manuel Serrat
To Each His Own
To each his own
There's no disputing tastes
Artifacts, beasts, men and women
Each one is as they are
Each person is each one
And goes down the stairs as they please
But, given the choice, I'm in favor
Of the voices of the street
More than the dictionary
I'm more drawn to the neighborhoods
Than the city center
And the artisans more than the factory
Reason over force
Instinct over urbanity
And a Sioux over the Seventh Cavalry
I prefer roads to borders
And a butterfly to the Rockefeller Center
And the lighthouse keeper of Capdepera
To the watchman of the West
I prefer loving to being able
To touch rather than to step on
To win over to lose
To kiss over to argue
To dance over to parade
And to enjoy over to measure
I prefer flying to running
Doing over thinking
Loving over wanting
Taking over asking
Above all, I am
In favor of living
To each his own
There's no disputing tastes
Artifacts, beasts, men and women
Each one is as they are
Each person is each one
And goes down the stairs as they please
But, given the choice, I prefer
A good time to a scolding
And a firefighter to a bomber
Growing up over settling down, I prefer
Flesh over metal
And windows over portholes
The mole on your face
To the National Gallery
And the revolution over nightmares
I prefer time over gold
Life over dreams
The dog over the collar
Nuts over noise
And to the wise yet to be known
Than to the known crazies
I prefer loving to being able
To touch rather than to step on
To win over to lose
To kiss over to argue
To dance over to parade
And to enjoy over to measure
I prefer flying to running
Doing over thinking
Loving over wanting
Taking over asking
Above all, I am
In favor of living
