La Rana Y El Príncipe
Joan Manuel Serrat
The Frog and The Prince
He was a real blue-blooded prince, more stuck-up and posh than a mannequin, who lived in a palace like Sissi's and appeared in gossip magazines, that when he had a few too many drinks, he would break spells with kisses. More than once, His Highness had problems because of that. A reflection that escaped to the moon, he discovered it in the palm of a water lily; and as it was common in him, he immediately recognized it. She was a real common frog who lived unaware of such a savior, catching insects around without caring a radish about the future. She listened absorbed to a male croak with blood stirred by spring, when that monstrous animal treacherously made her a prisoner in a careless moment. Under the starlight, he tenderly caressed her chin and kissed her. But the frog turned out to be a frog and His Highness turned into a frog. With the water up to his nose, he discovered horrified that for once those things happen, it worked the other way around; and since then he only jumps and jumps. His social reintegration is difficult. He doesn't fit into the life of frogs and the servants, naturally, don't allow him entry into the palace. And in his parents' lush garden, today there is one less prince and one more frog.
