Por Dignidad
Joan Manuel Serrat
For Dignity
The family, friends wait impatiently
For, out of dignity, to take her out of the house with violence.
Embarrassed, they watch me or smile with contempt.
It's clear they suspect I know what they know
And I know, I always knew she sleeps with anyone
And they think that, a man as such, wouldn't tolerate that.
But it's simple, every woman wants different men
And the man wants different women, it's common.
What do I care if in a room, others find shelter
As long as I need it, I find it unoccupied
I don't give up the delight of having her suggestive
In my bed every night because of other people's prejudices.
The family, friends pressure me daily.
I have no choice but to move out of this neighborhood.
