Reflexiones de Este Gallo

Reflections of This Rooster
To the good listener, a few words
That's what the saying goes, and it fits here
I know in your heart, even if you don't show it
The fool who's saying goodbye isn't there anymore
I also know that, by force, not even sandals
If they pinch you too much, they'll give you blisters
Don't think these are accusations
They're just reflections from this rooster
I could have come to worship you
That's right, but no use talking
What I had wasn't what we had
But that's not a reason to cry
I'm leaving to forget
In that, I'm a master
You gotta test the waters with the sweet potatoes
If you shine a light on them too much, you'll burn the saint
Frost ruins the corn
And loving you too much ruined me
I could have come to worship you
That's right, but no use talking
What I had wasn't what we had
But that's not a reason to cry
I'm leaving to forget
In that, I'm a master
