Cultuando a Tradição

Honoring Tradition
For being a cowboy, I like the backstrap of the colt
Sly way that I've carried since I was a kid
Tough rope to hold tight the tough guy
Strength in the arm if I get hooked to tame
Negotiating when I'm going to put the bridle
And it's okay to have a little patience
Only those who know the rough work that I speak of
Adjust the horse, partner here from the homeland
What pleases me in this cowboy life
Is the orderly way of this people from here
Pass on to the new ones a bit of this experience
And, from the homeland, everything I've learned
Rustic custom that comes with me from birth
Like a rosary that I always carry in hand
Sacred temple where I settle here
And, in this way, honoring the tradition
Smell of the field intoxicates the thoughts
Wind blows on the brim of the hat
I live in the work, side by side with the spur
Passing the hours under the blue sky
What pleases me in this cowboy life
Is the orderly way of this people from here
Pass on to the new ones a bit of this experience
And, from the homeland, everything I've learned
What pleases me in this cowboy life
Is the orderly way of this people from here
Pass on to the new ones a bit of this experience
And, from the homeland, everything I've learned
What pleases me in this cowboy life
Is the orderly way of this people from here
Pass on to the new ones a bit of this experience
And, from the homeland, everything I've learned
What pleases me in this cowboy life
Is the orderly way of this people from here
Pass on to the new ones a bit of this experience
And, from the homeland, everything I've learned
