Enfeitando o Salão
João Luiz Corrêa
Decorating the Hall
The old Colorado Sun is hiding little by little
Looking for the trench
The day is darkening, we're already receiving
The dancing young folks
The ladies are approaching and the cowboys are pumping
To separate the prettiest
Then, we enter the room where the accordion speaks
With a vanera accent
Then, we enter the room where the accordion speaks
With a vanera accent
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
A somewhat crazy accordionist plays eight punches
On the back of a vanerão
A singer, like a cicada, strums the guitar
And opens his heart in the shed
An old cowboy advising a tambourine
At the cost of a slap
And the rural workers are approaching the girls
And the fun is on
And the rural workers are approaching the girls
And the fun is on
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
If, by chance, some troublemaker decides to cause trouble
Among these brave folks
There's always a countryman who takes, at the cost of a beating
A mile and a half ahead
But the fandango doesn't stop and the old accordion plays
Like a rich man's relative
That's how it is in my state, where we leave the past
In the present's corral
That's how it is in my state, where we leave the past
In the present's corral
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
In my pampas land, every weekend
We decorate the hall
And send the youngest boy to spread the news among the people
That there's a dance in the corner
