Minha Missão
João Nogueira
My Mission
When I sing
It's to relieve my cry
And the cry of those who
Have suffered so much
When I sing
I feel the light of a saint
I'm kneeling
At God's feet
I sing to announce the day
I sing to ease the night
I sing to denounce the whip
I also sing against tyranny
I sing because in a melody
I ignite in the people's hearts
The hope of a new world
And the struggle to live in peace
From the power of creation
I am a continuation
And I want to thank
My plea was heard
I am a messenger of music
My singing is a mission
It has the power of prayer
And I fulfill my duty
There are those who live to cry
I live to sing
And I sing to live
There are those who live to cry
I live to sing
And I sing to live
When I sing
It's to relieve my cry
And the cry of those who
Have suffered so much
When I sing
I feel the light of a saint
I'm kneeling
At God's feet
I sing to announce the day
I sing to ease the night
I sing to denounce the whip
I also sing against tyranny
I sing because in a melody
I ignite in the people's hearts
The hope of a new world
And the struggle to live in peace
From the power of creation
I am a continuation
And I want to thank
My plea was heard
I am a messenger of music
My singing is a mission
It has the power of prayer
And I fulfill my duty
There are those who live to cry
I live to sing
And I sing to live
There are those who live to cry
I live to sing
And I sing to live
When I sing, death runs through me
And I release a song from my throat
That the cicada dies when it sings
And the wood, when it dies, sings!
When I sing, death runs through me
And I release a song from my throat
That the cicada dies when it sings
And the wood, when it dies, sings!
