Poeira da Estrada
João Paulo e Daniel
Dust of the Road
I lifted the lid, went back to the past
My world kept inside a trunk
I found it at the bottom, all dusty
My good old rawhide bow
I saw myself in the harness of my sorrel
Horn in hand in the middle of the herd
I hugged my old friend
The longing hit, despair came
Smell the dust from the road
Road that was red with dirt
That progress brought the asphalt and covered
Road that today is called a highway
Road where one day my dream followed
Road that used to be a cattle road
Dust road, sun, rain and cold
Road still has a small piece left
The dust from the bond that hasn't left yet
Dust from the road, all that remains is longing
Dust in the city is pollution
You don't see cowboys playing cattle
They traded horses for trucks
And when I miss the countryside
I pick up the guitar and sing my loneliness
I don't have much left here in the city
And when sadness really hits
I miss you at pawn parties
Road that was red with dirt
That progress brought the asphalt and covered
Road that today is called a highway
Road where one day my dream followed
Road that used to be a cattle road
Dust road, sun, rain and cold
Road still has a small piece left
The dust from the bond that hasn't left yet
