Chacarera Del Pantano
Jorge Cafrune
Swamp Chacarera
Through the cane hill
A countryman was singing
Slowly and uphill
And towards the swamp
When he reached the path
He spotted a little light
The tavern is celebrating
They call it La Serranita
Nice to see tied wagons
With the tarpaulin
And to hear a guitar
Playing the chacarera
Chacarera of the swamp
That awakens a longing in me
The countrymen stomping
My horse without eating
A gaucho looked at the field
Asking the sky for rain
And he stays observing
Like a vizcacha in the burrow
Serve wine, Mrs. Rocha
Serve another round, patroness
You can already smell
The scent
Of the goat barbecue
Serve wine, Mrs. Rocha
Don't try to charge me for it
With cats and chacareras
I'll know how to pay you back
Chacarera of the swamp
That awakens a longing in me
The countrymen stomping
My horse without eating
