Las Golondrinas
Jorge Cafrune
The Swallows
Where will you go flying through those skies?
Black ember that polishes the darkness?
Behind your wandering flight my eyes enjoy
The immensity the immensity
Sailboats from the storm clouds go away
In furrows of golden light the Sun sets
And like black syllables the swallows
They say goodbye, they say goodbye
Fly, fly, fly, swallow
Return from beyond
Come back from the depths of life
Over the light, across the sea
Crossing the sea
The afternoon has a sky of kites
The wind in the groves goes singing
And my thoughts retracing the days
He's leaving too, he's leaving too
When the days get shorter next to my shadow
And in my soul the sunset falls bleeding
I will raise my eyes asking the sky
See you again, see you again
Fly, fly, fly, swallow
Return from beyond
Come back from the depths of life
Over the light, across the sea
Crossing the sea
