Preguntitas Sobre Diós

Little Questions About God
One day I asked
Grandpa, where is God?
He looked at me with sad eyes
And said nothing to me
My grandfather died in the mountains
Without prayer or confession
And the Indians buried him
With a cane flute and drum
Another day I asked
Father, what do you know about God?
He looked at me with sad eyes
And said nothing to me
My father died in the mines
Without prayer or confession
The color of miner's blood
Is the same as the boss's gold
My brother lives in the mountains
And doesn't know the flower
Sweat, snakes, and malaria
Is the life of a lumberjack
And let no one ask him
If he knows where God is
For in his house has never passed
Such a distinguished gentleman
I sing along the roads
And when I'm in prison
I hear the voice of the people
Who sing better than me
There is something in life
More important than God
That no one spits blood
So that another may live better
God helps the poor
Maybe yes, maybe no
But surely He has lunch
At the boss's table!
