Que El Soneto Nos Tome Por Sorpresa
Jorge Drexler
Let The Sonnet Take Us By Surprise
Enter this verse like the wind,
that moves the sand without purpose,
like someone dancing who moves just a little,
for the sheer pleasure of movement.
Without pretensions, without predicament,
like an echo that unintentionally resonates,
let each syllable in the eleventh
find its place and its moment.
Let the sonnet take us by surprise,
as if it were a done deal,
like puzzles take us,
without knowing, born assembled.
So love, just like a verse begins,
without understanding where it came from.
Let the sonnet take us by surprise,
as if it were a done deal,
like puzzles take us,
without knowing, born assembled.
So love, just like a verse begins,
without understanding where it came from.
