Despedir a Los Glaciares
Jorge Drexler
Farewell to the Glaciers
A drop rolls on the ice and hangs over the void
By its own weight it ends up falling into the river
Time that heals everything, also melts everything
And the ice returns like a pulse that repeats
And when the moment comes let's honor our wounds
Let's celebrate the beauty that fades into other lives
And even if sorrow hurts us, let's not be forsaken
And let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
Let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
We learned to bundle up by measuring ourselves against the ice
And we gave it names, we said: Stone of the sky
And the planet shivered for seven thousand generations
Going from water to ice and from cold to songs
And when the moment comes let's honor our wounds
Let's raise our glasses for a lost cause
And let an alleluia run through the screens of the bars
And let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
Let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
Let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
Let's find a way to bid farewell to the glaciers
