Canto Versos
Jorge Fandermole
Singing Verses
If I think of something to say
If I think of someone to live for
If almost nothing stands
And this second has already gone
If a gleam lingers in the gaze
Piercing through so much pain
I sing verses of my feelings
And condemn them to survive
Where the Sun seems not to shine
Where one dies of loneliness
In the deepest of this stillness
Where blood hides the light
Where a guardian angel agonizes
And water and bread rot for us
I sing verses from the heart
And ignite them in a song
I sing, I sing
So weak I am that singing is my raised hand
And strong I sing, I sing
I don't know what else to do in this burning land
But sing
In the invisible of the city
Where hatred and truth hide
Where the mouths of a gray child
Run somnambulist behind me
The unfortunate night that a repentant God
Forgot us
I sing verses of fury and faith
To help me stand
I sing, I sing
So weak I am that singing is my raised hand
And strong I sing, I sing
What else to do with uninhabited words
But sing
I sing, I sing
I don't know what else to do in this burning land
But sing
I sing, I sing
So weak I am that singing is my raised hand
And strong I sing, I sing
