El Caney de Los Retoños
Jorge Guerrero
The Caney of the Offshoots
The caney of the offshoots, inspires me to sing
Rocking in a hammock, under a waning moon
With the view of the hills, the refreshing wind arrives
While the dancing waters flow down from the castrero
The Pariapan frames the impressive landscape
San Juan is visible, under the shining moon
Adorning with zeal, its student population
In the thermal breaths, relaxing waters come
Sweat from your springs, warm and comforting
Where the locals and visitors find relief
Beautiful San Juan de los Morros, grateful and happy
I bring you my folk song, on the wings of sentiment
The caney of the offshoots, with the whispers of the wind
The scent of the strawberry tree arrives, from my dreamy Arauca
San Juan, this is my tribute, as a token of gratitude
On the wings of this passage, immense town of Guarico
In you my lineage grows and in you I set my dwelling
Elorza gives you a hug with the folk essence of my verse
I want to immerse myself in your embrace, where my song is immersed
Receiving from the sunset, the magic of the Universe
