It's my pride to have been born in the humblest neighborhood,
away from the hustle of fake society,
I didn't have the misfortune of not being a son of the people
I count myself among the people who have no falsehood

My destiny is very straightforward, I'll take it as it comes,
enduring sadness or chasing an illusion,
I'm on the path of life, very happy with my poverty,
since I don't have money, I have a lot of heart

Descendant of Cuauhtémoc,
Mexican by fortune,
unlucky in love, I'm a drunkard and troubadour,
but how many millionaires would want to live my life,
to sing to poverty without feeling any pain

That's why I'm proud to be from the humblest neighborhood,
away from the hustle of fake society,
I write my songs so
that the people can sing them,
and the day the people let me down, that day I will cry.
