Balada Dum Estranho
Jorge Palma
Balad of a Stranger
You woke up today differently from other days
You feel strange and your hands are wet and cold
You try to remember some nightmare but the effort is in vain
You seem to hear footsteps in the house and you do not know who they belong to
You leave the room and you go to the room to peek behind the sofa
But by then you already suspect that the ghosts are not there
You go to the window and looking out you feel that you have lost your center
And suddenly you find it's time to look inside
Because there is something that does not fit right
Something that you left pending
Something that prevents you from seeing yourself in the mirror
And you can not help but feel that the culprit is you
You see your name written in an envelope that you tear up nervously
You had already read this letter in advance
And your eyes ignore the letters and focus on the lines
And exclaim: But after all... These words are mine!
The way back is sealed and you have a wall in front of you
And when you look at the sides you see the furniture with indiference
So you leave this house where you felt the ground fleeing
You build another dwelling, but you know that you are lying
Because there is something that does not fit right
Something you left pending
Something that prevents you from seeing yourself in the mirror
And you can not help but feel that the culprit is you
You can not help but feel that the culprit is you
And you can not help but feel that the culprit is you
