Jeremias O Fora Da Lei
Jorge Palma
Jeremias The Outlaw
I'm gonna tell y'all about a curious character: Jeremias, the outlaw
Descendant by crooked lines of the infamous Zé do Telhado
Jeremias has been dedicated since a young age to making homemade bombs
Whose eloquence always left him amazed
For Jeremias, nothing compares to the magic of dynamite
Except maybe the passionate roar of the earth's deepest bowels
Only when the facades of public buildings explode in laughter
Will the law that laws contain truly be public
Some see Jeremias as just another victim of society
Although he has a very particular opinion about that
It's because while the criminal has a certain natural tendency to be victimized
Jeremias never found reasons to blame himself
Because it was never ambition or revenge that led him to disregard the law
And it never crossed his mind to try to alter the constitution
Like a poet, he disrupts the nightmare beyond legal limits
Fugitive for love of beauty and by vocation
Jeremias likes the black wardrobe and the myths of the outlaw
He likes the warmth of brandy and to keep rowing against the tide
He likes the way respectable men choke when they talk about him
And the way women whisper: 'the outlaw'
He likes treasures and maps, especially those mistreated by time
He likes to play with destiny and not even hell scares him
Not willing to wait for humanity to ever get better
Jeremias chose his place on the outside
