It's not gold, it's not silver
the wealth of men
although abundance reigns
without love you feel poor.
In the tower of my dreams
I have climbed to the highest,
the pleasures of life
are not many nor are they expensive.
To love without being loved
that is a great sorrow,
it is sadder if one dies
without having loved anyone.
They are castles in the sand
riches and fame
even a mighty river
often ends up as nothing.
When the tree dries up
it starts to turn its branches
but it leaves its seed
which the wind scatters.
The deeper the well
the clearer and fresher the water
the poorer I am
the firmer my words are.
