Por Ser Un Solo
José Larralde
For Being One Alone
One day I set off on the road
Like one more grain of sand carried by the wind
I followed the trail and waited for its breath
Without much haste or greater destiny
Who can predict if it's a mistake
To turn the element into distance
One throws nostalgia over their shoulder
Because hope is carried in the chest
Perhaps it doesn't hurt so much to know little
Everything is learned
But it's never enough
The worst travels in the world of ideas
Putting trust in who and when?
If the heart is given, what remains
To be able to continue paying in advance?
The breath that costs and is paid
As everything is paid at every moment
What was done in the past and what will be done
Will be an extravagant debt to pay
I am just a man and that's enough
To try to find a reason in the open
To see my boat shipwreck in my own port
And my flag at the auction
That will be cheered by those of my kind
For all the reasons of my success
I am just a man and almost the owner of being one alone and contrary to everything
I don't accept hierarchies in the way of reaching heaven or hell
I count the black beads of the rosary
That go towards the cross, side by side
That's why wanting to wet the river with the breath of a fish is impossible
But in the absurd, the feasible exists
Like extinguishing life in a forge
The subtle underskirt doesn't cover the bosom
When the mind pierces the invisible
One day I set off on the road
Like one more grain of sand carried by the wind
I followed the trail and waited for its breath
Without much haste or greater destiny
Who can predict if it's a mistake
To turn the element into distance
