Un Día me Fui Del Pago
José Larralde
One Day I Left the Hometown
One day I left the hometown, damn how I missed it,
I went out looking for work and here I am, look at me.
When one hits the road, it's hard to know,
if they'll be able to come back or die without being able to.
The more leagues you travel, the more there are to go,
the roads are for going, the sorrows are for returning.
One day I left the hometown, but God must want,
that my left hand won't fail me before reaching Huanguelén.
Man digs into others, seeking happiness,
and forgets about himself, where he should be digging.
Reasons are reasons, if one can reason,
sometimes you walk thinking without knowing what to think.
Big footprints of earth and gravel, that I roamed as a child,
brooks, mountains, and winds, they are there and I am here.
One day I left the hometown, but God must want,
that my left hand won't fail me before reaching Huanguelén.
That my left hand won't fail me, before reaching Huanguelén...
