Yerba Y olvido
José Larralde
Yerba and Oblivion
Open furrow, long dream,
red earth and weeds,
cassava, yerba and oblivion,
missionary beyond measure,
I've known you forever,
and even if you don't understand my path,
the cry that God has given me,
for your silence it will be.
Open furrow, long dream,
red earth and weeds,
cassava, bofe and misery,
distributed in the daily wage.
Laborer, misery,
sadness in the eyes and bones,
what good is life to me.
What good is death to me
What good is being a man and not seeing you
Laborer of sadness.
There is a place in the world,
where everything is green,
where everything is beautiful,
where the waters roar,
where the air kisses,
where the sky is born,
where the plumage reigns,
and the flowers exhale eternal perfumes,
there is a place in the world,
where man cries,
with a taste of gall.
There is a place in the world,
strong missionary,
chipa and terere,
where the law is work,
And whoever tightens from below
collapses standing.
Open furrow, long dream,
Red earth and weeds,
cassava, yerba and oblivion,
missionary and beyond.
There is a place in the world,
where everything is green,
where everything is beautiful,
where the waters roar,
where the air kisses,
where the sky is born,
where the plumage reigns,
and the flowers exhale eternal perfumes,
there is a place in the world,
where man cries,
with a taste of gall.
There is a place in the world,
strong missionary,
chipa and terere,
where the law is work,
And whoever tightens from below
collapses standing.
