Yo Tambien
José Larralde
Me Too
I'm the shadow of a dog that doesn't exist
and that maybe if it did exist wouldn't be a dog.
But I'm an animal that wears and dresses
and barks at the moon from my confinement.
I'm the shadow of a dog without chains
that bites the binding that analyzes
through the heavy rope of my veins I pour out the light
but my faith is dying.
I search for the abyss of my thin shadow
and at the level of the bark of my skin
howls the dog that I am not and doesn't exist
through the shadow that illuminates my path.
Who has more reason than the dog
when it barks alone
why bark among a bunch of dogs
if the shouts drown it out
from there I learned to bark only my sorrows
and to die slowly
if one doesn't die, one doesn't learn anything
not even the reason for barking.
For the sole reason of dying
is that life is worth it
man struggles and suffers until rotting
for a known reason and barely comes to understand that it's nothing
how God is valued
to not lose the luck of dying slowly
he rushes to undo himself
reason to be a reason not to be needed
where reasons abound
to serve not to serve or to provoke anger
handled by shoves
and barely comes to understand that he exists
how God gives punishment
to not poke the eye of history it patches it up with a monument.
