La Rutina
José Luis Perales
The Routine
Let every morning be the debut of the kiss
That comes from your mouth
Let my caresses shake your body
And being with me drives you crazy
May no glance be the same
And the sea foam turns into rock
May no one get used to being happy
Because routine kills everything it touches
That routine
Doesn't let grass grow on the path
And divides what's indivisible
And drags us
To the most infinite loneliness
That routine
Is the drop that ends up shaping
In our hearts
Stalactites
And pushes us
To the most infinite loneliness
Let one night dress in black
The always white moon
Let the light shine on the impossible
And blur everything with nothing
May this love we navigate at odd hours
Be different every time
Love is not a slave to the clock
And routine kills everything it touches
That routine
Numbs desire and embrace
And lets us fall
Into free fall
And plunges us
Into that undesired
Loveless state
That routine
Is the drop that ends up shaping
In our hearts
Stalactites
And pushes us
To the most infinite loneliness
