Sin Lágrimas
José María Contursi
Without Tears
You don't know how much I have loved you,
How can you deny that you were mine;
And yet you have asked me
To leave you, to go away,
To sink you into oblivion.
You see, my eyes haven't cried,
Why cry for what I have lost;
But in my torn chest...
Without beats, shattered,
The heart is dying.
Now, that my affection is so deep,
Now, I am left alone in this world;
What does it matter if I am dying and no one comes
To cover these remains, what does it matter
About life! if my life is in your eyes.
Now that I feel the cold of death,
Now that my eyes won't see you...
What does it matter if someone else has your charms,
If I know that no one can love you
As much, as much as I loved you.
I can't blame you for anything
If I found in your love the lost faith;
With the warmth of your gaze
You gave strength to my life,
Poor shattered life.
And, although my eyes haven't cried,
Today, praying to God I have asked...
That if other lips have kissed you,
And by kissing you have hurt you,
May you not suffer like I did.
