I'm made in the environment
Of tough guys
Among tough and shady characters
I became tough to handle

I've played without making mistakes
In tricky situations
I was taught to be sharp
By many truly sharp ones

I don't like bars
Where the drinks talk too much
If between sips
What was never thought of is revealed

I know so many men
Who were sharp and skilled
And at the crossroads of four drinks
They got into trouble

I was never a snob
With fancy looks and airs
And I know what it's like
To gamble with luck
If I have a good hand

I avoid that
Shady and confident talk
From those who feel
Like friends just for the moment

I belong to those times
That arise from within the chest
Of loyal women
And upright men
Carving behind cardboard

I always behave
No matter how many obstacles they throw at me
Even if many get carried away
I'm sharp for hustling

I'm wary of the cops
Because I have my hustle
And I can handle any situation
With the cards I'm dealt

I don't like to clue in fools
Who then turn against you
I tend to listen a lot
I was never a big talker

And I learned from a young age
That those born tough
Don't bend with the bad
Nor are they snitches
