Without Seeking You
Although I know what it's like to be in your presence
I have tasted so many times of your glory
Although I know what it's like to enjoy your victory
I have not understood the value of having you
Because when the desert suddenly arrives
I forget the kindness you have shown
I forget everything I have experienced in you
And although there are so many promises I have made to you
So many nights on my knees while I speak to you
My mistakes that shatter the plans
Make me think that you are no longer by my side
But it is when I am there, locked up, that I feel you
My skin tingling as you walk around
With your hands lifting my head
And I still don't understand
How even immersed in sin
You have rescued me
In my anguish you heard my call
It was by your grace
That today I can say of you
What a great God
That without seeking you, you found me
And I have lived my best experiences
Even when I thought I was lost
When I saw the chains in my hands
It was you who broke them with those nails
And in my failures you are glorified
You turn my illnesses into medicine
And your hands still lift me up in my falls
And I still don't understand
How even immersed in sin
You have rescued me
In my anguish you heard my call
It was by your grace
That today I can say of you
What a great God
That without seeking you, you found me
Prostrated, defeated
Being dead in my offenses and sins
Your grace, immense grace reached me, I did not grab your hand
The shame on my head
Prevented me from clinging to your arms
But tied up, chained
There I had to understand that the madness of believing is accepting what I cannot comprehend
And now I understand that there is no explanation
To understand oh your ineffable love
Today I just accept and today I can say of you
What a great God
That without seeking you, you found me
