Cuando Estoy En El Campo
Juan Gabriel
When I'm in the Countryside
When I'm in the countryside, my life changes
my little adobe house, that's my ranch
I hear the rooster's crow announcing
that a beautiful new day is coming to my ranch
Love awakens,
faith rises, life begins
and everything is in harmony
When I'm in the countryside, I go to the river
to listen to the silence of God and mine
and it bathes me, rocks me, lulls me to sleep, takes me away
and soothes me just like when I was a child, my beloved father did,
my divine mother with her love and affection
When I'm in the countryside and the evening falls
before the sun goes down, like my father
on horseback I walk, I roam, I enjoy
and admire my beautiful and dark land
I see the vineyard, the alfalfa, the corn, the rice,
the wheat, its green walnut grove
When I'm in the countryside, I see the stars
and looking at them I remember, very beautiful things
about my father, my mother, my uncles,
my brother, my grandfather and my grandmother
I imagine that all my people who live in me always
are all of them
And I'm not leaving from here, I'm going to stay here
And I'm not leaving from here, I'm going to stay here
