Tres Claveles y Un Rosal
Juan Gabriel
Three Carnations and a Rose
The gates of the cemetery, swung wide open
Buried my love, swore, never to love again
Until I reached the grave, where he now rests in peace
And on his grave, I left three carnations and a rose
With tears in my eyes, I wrote on his tomb
The carnations are your love, and the rose is your forgetfulness
I left the sad cemetery, saw the abandoned tomb
My God keep his love, my God take his soul
I forgot my handkerchief, when I returned for it
I saw that on the cross he wrote, I will never forget you
And I bent down, picked up the handkerchief, that I had forgotten
And I saw the carnations, I saw the carnations
But the rose, was no longer there
