J'ai pour toi un lac
Julie Daraiche
I Have a Lake for You
I have a lake for you somewhere in the world
A beautiful blue lake
Like an open eye on the deep night
A chilly crystal
That trembles at its name like a quaking leaf
In the autumn breeze and the winter fields
Time reflects there, it dies and gathers
My days right side up, my nights upside down
I have for you far away a stroll
Towards soft sand
Thousands of steps, quiet, no parade
To who knows where
And the star of the wind of whole seasons
That have drawn like on our foreheads
The waves of the lost day from the cat doors
Of good castaways that we will become there
I have for you endlessly undone and redone
Thousands of castles
Loved clouds that for their princess
Would become a boat
Would become a palm tree, would become a crown
Would become a basket full of ripe fruits
And I would love the one who gives me
The earth and the moon with the sun
