As de Cartón
Julio Sosa
Cardboard Aces
Counting his feats in a bar
A tough guy who made a name for himself in the group
He fooled fools to drink for free
With famous exploits that weren't his
Knowledgeable in phrases and manners
Of the slang from the slums
He told phenomenal battles
Where he always played the lead role.
But one night an old-timer fell
While he was spinning his tales
And he tore off the mask of the fake tough guy
Leaving him with the face of a thug
"You used to make the mate in a gambling den
That Don Melitón had in the cave
And you were a messenger for the pimps
And now you come to tell the story of a big shot."
"They called you the goose, because as a sucker
You had earned your credential well
And your best joke was that record
For stealing chickens in a henhouse."
And to top it off, luck struck the bar
The woman of the famous cardboard ace walked in
And telling him, "beast, get lost inside,
Sweep the room well! Watch the pimp."
(Spoken)
And the one who told his feats among the unfortunate
Of fierce fights he dominated
Muttering under his breath grumbles:
"There are no more tough guys now, old man...
(What are you going to do!)
It's all over!
