El Último Café
Julio Sosa
The Last Coffee
Your memory arrives in a whirlwind
Returns in the autumn at dusk
I look at the drizzle, and while I look
The coffee spoon spins
From the last coffee
That your lips with cold
Asked for that time
With the voice of a sigh
I remember your disdain
I evoke you without reason
I hear you without you being there
Ours ended
You said in a goodbye
Of sugar and ice
The same as the coffee
As love, as forgetting!
As the final vertigo
Of a resentment without reason
And there, with your cruelty
I saw myself die standing
I measured your vanity
And then I understood my loneliness
Without a reason
It was raining and I offered you, the last coffee!
