Forgotten
They killed the poor guy, what a shame!
Just got married! It's hard to believe!
Juan, the bad omen, jumped the fence
And came to take away his own wife...
It happened in the yard of "the feat,"
The wedding party was a grand affair;
But suddenly two daggers struck,
Turning that joy into a scene of horror.
(Spoken)
Wounded to death
And soaked in blood,
He spoke like this,
The newlywed:
It's nothing, my girl;
Don't be scared, my love...
While we were fighting,
We lost the knife...
I feel it coming,
A cold little breeze,
Here, on this side,
Over my heart...
Bring me some flowers...
Go visit me...
The ground is so cold
To be forgotten...
Goodbye, my girl,
I'll be waiting for you!
I'm fading away,
Just from being dead!
At first, it was all promises...
The widow cried, no doubt about it;
But in the end, she lost her sadness
And never went to see her poor cowboy again.
No wonder on stormy nights
You can clearly hear the voice of the dead,
Calling out: Lucinda,
I'm so lonely, come to my side!
