Concrete Poetry

From every concrete sidewalk in the city
Every beam that rises
Every life that follows
Each citizen pursues his share, fighting to maintain himself
Marking the same route, fighting to never get lost
So as not to lose, not to see the face of defeat stamped on the nonsense
That makes a point at every corner, leaning against some post
Ready to divert you from luck
Maybe a sudden cut in your fate
There are some who follow the routine and do not look around
Complain and don't post to make things better
You think it's better to survive just by keeping your distance
Of every dream that grew in childhood
And every child's hope mixes with the impure air inhaled and exhaled
For every ordinary citizen who lets freedom slip away
In the gutter of the city's concrete sidewalk

Dedicated to each poet in the city, dedicated to each athlete in the city
City, dedicated to every human being in the city who cultivates
Freedom in the concrete of the city

Between the concrete walls of the city, the world hides
Of those who do any business just to avoid being labeled a bum
Adult dreams are shattered by the second with every insult from the boss
It's the cult of pretending that I'm happy like this
Salary at the end of the month is what pays the bills and is good for me
It's not the case that I fit into
I dream too high to live like a doormat
And I think there are others out there
Who look at the walls only thinking about demolishing them
To be free, but in reality you don't even know how
He lost all sense of purpose, accustomed to living with an owner
I don't condemn, but I don't agree and I don't adapt
Outside the walls I capture more inspiration
I feel ready to sing about freedom
That hides between the concrete walls of the city

Some concrete roof of the city, shelters the rest
Of the freedom similar to that which ran down the sidewalk gutter
Did he hide between the walls or go somewhere else?
He died of hunger, cold, thirst
Because without shelter there is nowhere to return to
To be able to rest and think
In the strategy to continue fighting to maintain the freedom we have
Adversities are unknown
Where do they come from, what do they look like?
By the hands of those who come with orders from those who someone tells me
Because I can't be completely happy
Without anyone or anything trying to disturb my mind
But I always move forward
I'm swimming even if it's against the current
So I can build my verse, my shelter, my roof
To make my version of concrete poetry
