Culpable
Karen Méndez
Guilty
Guilty is what the verdict says
But undefeated in the defeat of a poem
My problem is living with the conflict
Of a heart addicted to everything that burns
I flipped the coin, but it came up tails
And since then I only write love songs
To fall in love with anyone but you
And become anyone but me
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I live with that anxiety on my back
You don't know how much it costs me
To look for you here in bed when I wake up and see you're not here
I talk to the bottle
But it doesn't give me the answer either
You don't know how much it costs me
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I can be, I can be
Guil-guilty, prison at the same time
I thought you were freedom and I gave you my breath
How many nights without your kisses my sentence is fulfilled
If having you in my memories already means your chains
And if you want to admit it: Yes, the fault is mine
For looking for myself in your hands when I'm not in mine
For fulfilling so many sentences in the name of sin
From my innocent rage for not always being by your side
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I live with that anxiety on my back
You don't know how much it costs me
To look for you here in bed when I wake up and see you're not here
I talk to the bottle
But it doesn't give me the answer either
You don't know how much it costs me
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I can be, I can be
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I live with that anxiety on my back
You don't know how much it costs me
I talk to the bottle
But it doesn't give me the answer either
You don't know how much it costs me
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
I live with that anxiety on my back
You don't know how much it costs me
To look for you here in bed when I wake up and see you're not here
Karen Méndez (I talk to the bottle)
(But it doesn't give me the answer either)
You don't know how much it costs me
Neither with you, nor without you can I be
