A Promessa
Kemilly Santos
The Promise
Once again life made you adapt to endure silently
What no one would bear even by screaming
Look at you there drawing strength from where you don't have
Little by little you became someone
Who doesn't share the heavy burden with anyone
You are strong but still human
I know crying wasn't in Your plans
But what hurts also teaches to live
It is in weakness that God perfects in you
In you
Those who see you worshiping can't imagine how hard it is
Having to hide the tears behind that smile
The voice that still falters when it wants to sing
And yet you keep worshiping
Eyes blurred but holding on
Between a sob and a cry, you are overcoming
Believing that tomorrow the bad day has passed
And that the promise is much greater than this momentary pain
Little by little you became someone
The burden is heavy, doesn't share with anyone
You are strong but still human
I know crying wasn't in Your plans
But what hurts also teaches to live
It is in weakness that God perfects in you
In you
Those who see you worshiping can't imagine how hard it is
Having to hide the tears behind that smile
The voice that still falters when it wants to sing
And yet you keep worshiping
Eyes blurred but holding on
Between a sob and a cry, you are overcoming
Believing that tomorrow the bad day has passed
And that the promise is much greater than this momentary pain
Those who see you worshiping can't imagine how hard it is
Having to hide the tears behind that smile
The voice that still falters when it wants to sing
And yet you keep worshiping
Eyes blurred but holding on
Between a sob and a cry, you are overcoming
Believing that tomorrow the bad day has passed
And that the promise is much greater than this momentary pain
