Keny Arkana Keny Arkana

I Dared

I've always done things my way, didn't listen to the naysayers
Left school early, found it too exhausting
Denied my halo when the wounds were too raw
Against the walls of a dingy cell or on the back of a shooting star
I left far from home, where was I taken by force?
I faced my fears one by one from my childhood zeal
I moved mountains even under the sneer of others
I experienced hell and then the radiance of dawn
I wanted to understand who decreed that this rotten world would be like this
That we could never change anything without getting smashed by those who wore the badge
I wrote thousands of rhymes, then I released them by tearing my guts out
Keep your boxes and wild titles, among the wild ones swimming while watching music videos
Without life jackets, I swim in the vastness of life

I don't forget to heal my scars
If I'm not here, it's because I'm out and about
Paper and pen on the battlefield
Screw the liars and their damn plan
Babylon made me sick too

I dared to face my faults (I faced my faults)
Yes, I crossed deserts (and followed the star)
I dared to defy the times (I defied the times)
And I dared to believe in my dreams (otherwise who will do it for me?)
When everyone wants to fit you into norms (we don't fit into norms)
Because they invented the rules (and preached disobedience)
I dared to refuse orders (I refused orders)
Yes, I dared to believe in myself (each has their own path and mission)

I've always been independent, never waited for anyone
Found life monotonous, didn't want to stay in the same zone
I dared to walk the globe and break the rules
To unlock doors with my pen, I defied the times
Had to face my fears, test my faith
Had to get out of the crap dreaming of making my voice heard
And to those who claimed to know, who predicted my downfall
Little fraudster at the end of the world almost recognized at every station
So I start full throttle, take action
Kicking in loops and false statements
Emanation of unreal things, bam arrives and exits like an explosion
Young vagabond who when the crowd praises her flees, friend of every passion
In colors I write dreams on the gray walls of the nation with a spray can
By breaking in, I entered the rap scene
I take what life gives me
I grow every second
And every second I defy your barcodes
They told me 'give up, it's too late'
But I charged ahead, eyebrows furrowed
Bold young woman, I dared to defy the empire

If I had listened to them, I would have become a shadow of myself
Heavy heart, suffocated soul, had no chance but I took it anyway
I would have become bitter from the lack of daring in my life
Watching the trains go by, feet cemented on the pavement
I would have rusted in its routine and madness
Just going around the block as if everything was meaningless
So I jumped into the thick of it, took the plunge
And then I dared to think for myself, yes, and I dared to speak my mind
I dared to push the limits, move mountains
Defy the forbidden, satisfy the beats of my soul
I dared to defy fate and long-standing patterns
Even if it shocks those who say your past condemns you
