Summer is Ending
I turn off the TV
I write you a letter
About how I can't
Watch this crap anymore
About how I have no more strength
About how I almost started drinking
But I didn't forget you
About how the phone rang
I wanted to get up
Get dressed and go
Or rather - run
But I just sent it
Said I was sick and tired
And didn't sleep this night
I'm waiting for an answer
No more hope
Summer will end soon. That's it
We were lucky with the weather
Rain has been falling for the fourth day
Although they said on the radio -
It will be hot even in the shade
But, in fact, in that shade where I am
It's dry and warm
But I'm still afraid
And the days go by
We eat one day, drink three
And, in general, we live happily
Although it's raining outside
The tape recorder broke
I sit in silence
And I'm quite happy about it
I'm waiting for an answer
No more hope
Summer will end soon. That's it
There's construction outside
The crane is working
And the fifth year is over
There's a restaurant around the corner
And on the table there's a jar
And in the jar - a tulip
And on the window - a glass
And so the years go by
And life will pass
And for the hundredth time the buttered bread
Will fall butter side down
But maybe there will be at least a day
Maybe there will be at least an hour
When we'll be lucky
I'm waiting for an answer
No more hope
Summer will end soon. That's it
