José El Azteca

Jose The Aztec
Love can't be bought...
I can't believe what you did
I gave you all my love but you left
And never again, and never again will you return
And never again, and never again will you return
Love can't be bought, nor can it be sold
That's how this story goes, listen and learn
Jose was an Indian who lived in poverty
And Maria a princess who lived in nobility
Jose wanted Maria to be his wife
But destiny had something else prepared
Everything was fine until their parents found out
Because without money in society, you're worthless
Maria was forbidden to see Jose anymore
But Jose, with sadness, spoke to the bosses
If you're poor and want nobility
You'll have to do something deserving of reward
If you go to war and return victorious
You'll have whatever you want, go and prove your worth
Jose left to fulfill his dream
Of Maria's love; he was the owner
I can't believe what you did
I gave you all my love but you left
And never again, and never again will you return
And never again, and never again will you return
The days went by, the years passed
Maria was forced to marry a rich man
Everyone forgot about the Indian Jose
They thought he was dead and also very poor
The war ended but Jose never arrived
Maria suffered, cried at night
Jose was her love and the man she loved
Without any hope, Maria took her own life
The next day Jose returned
But it was too late, Maria was lying there
Crying in sadness, Jose picked her up
To everyone's surprise, he took her to the jungle
He asked the Gods to revive her
They could take his soul if they wanted
He took his sword and removed his heart
Thus came the end of this sad song
I can't believe what you did
I gave you all my love but you left
And never again, and never again will you return
And never again, and never again will you return
The Aztecs learned a valuable lesson
That two lovers should not be conditioned
Jose's heart shed a lot of blood
Nourishing the earth that cried of hunger
Where they died, the plants withered
As a sacred place, the Aztecs left it
The mountains were left with Maria's song
The Indians listened and this is what it said:
Love can't be bought
Love can't be sold
And someday; and someday I will be
With that man, with that man I loved
I can't believe what you did
I gave you all my love but you left
And never again, and never again will you return
And never again, and never again will you return
