An Der Nordseekueste
Klaus & Klaus
At the North Sea coast
Back then, an infinitely long time ago
We Frisians settled by the water.
The years passed by in a rush
But even today, we Frisians still look broad.
At the North Sea coast on the Low German beach
The fish are in the water and rarely on land.
At the North Sea coast on the Low German beach
The fish are in the water and rarely on land.
After the flood comes the ebb
After the ebb comes the flood
The dikes
Sometimes they hold up well, sometimes not so much.
The Danes
They wander back and forth on the beach
From Greenland to Flanders
At least approximately.
At the North Sea coast ...
The seals sing a lament
Because they can't wag their tails
What a shame.
The sheep
They bleat like crazy on the dike
And decorate it with black-green balls.
At the North Sea coast ...
At the North Sea coast ...
