It's My Turn to Speak
They've tried to drag me down so many times
I don't know how much more I can take.
It's all been just stupid bullshit,
Hypocrites who won't let me think.
In rock, I found my way,
The first thing's hard to accept,
The first fights, the first screams,
I had to forget the music.
And now it's my turn to speak,
Stop bothering me,
You are who you want to be,
Not who others want you to be.
Then I decided to dress my own way,
With a message on my shirt,
I was looking for reasons to lift me up,
I wasn't hurting anyone.
I started to read, began to educate myself
On the different ways to act,
But they wouldn't stop criticizing me,
Others always thought they were smarter.
And now it's my turn to speak,
Stop bothering me,
You are who you want to be,
Not who others want you to be.
I've always intended to hurt no one,
I've lived my life without looking
At those who keep trying to hold me back,
Who don't know what my will is.
But hey, I'm still holding on,
I repeat, I don't know for how much longer,
To those people, nothing, not a damn thing,
They'll get tired of bothering me.
And now it's my turn to speak,
Stop bothering me,
You are who you want to be,
Not who others want you to be.
