Fire Hawk
Fire hawk, bird of the sky,
Hawk, from beyond the winds,
Small bird, diving as an osprey,
From the edges of the blue sky.
Its wings were magnificent,
Feathers wild and fierce,
Beak sharp as an axe,
Eyes flashing like lightning.
Like the beautiful flight of a hawk,
Like the creative flight of a hawk,
So is my proud spirit,
So is my free thought.
One wing brushed the ground,
One scratched the sky's surface,
Beak hooked like a sickle,
Eyes saw beyond the stars.
It flew through three rapids,
Three rapids, four rivers,
Into the beautiful forest land,
Into the sweet land of Finland.
Like the beautiful arc of a hawk,
Like the creative flight of a hawk,
So is my proud spirit,
So is my free thought.
