Seto no hanayome
Koyanagi Rumiko
The Bride of the Seto Inland Sea
The strait is calm, the evening tide, the sunset glow
I'm going to your island as your bride
Everyone worries about our youth
But love is there, so it's all right
Gradually, I'll say goodbye to the fields
My young brother cried, 'Don't go'
If you were a man, you wouldn't cry or hesitate
Take care of Mom and Dad
The small boat goes around the cape
The island where I was born becomes distant
On the other side of the inlet, to the people seeing me off
When I announce our parting, tears flow
From island to island, I'll cross over
Living with you from now on
The Seto Inland Sea, the sunset, tomorrow will be clear
We're exchanging vows at our home
