Arnulfo Gonzalez
La Adictiva
Arnulfo Gonzalez
From Allende, I say goodbye
At 21, I’m in my prime
I leave behind sweet memories
Of the town and the country folks
Arnulfo was sitting there
When a cop rode on by
He said, "Hey, what’s up with you?
Your stare is quite the sight"
The cop, really pissed off
Slapped him right in the face
With a gun in his hand
He threatened him with death
Forget the warnings
Arnulfo stood up tall
Trying to get his attention
"Hey buddy, don’t walk away
I still need to respond"
They started shooting
Face to face, they stood their ground
Arnulfo with his pistol
Fired three shots at the lieutenant
The lieutenant, badly hurt
On the brink of death
He said, "Hey, don’t walk away
Finish me off, just do it"
Arnulfo turned back around
To shoot him in the head
But as he turned around
That’s when the lieutenant shot him
Arnulfo, badly wounded
Was flying in a car
On his way to the hospital
Arnulfo was gasping for breath
The lieutenant was a tough guy
He had proven his worth
But he met a fighter
Who wasn’t backing down
With this, I say goodbye
To the peaceful and the cops
Here ends the ballad
Of the lieutenant and Gonzalez
