'Gum cosmos'

It can't be, you won't tell me that in the end you miss me
dreaming so much about losing you in the sea
that the years ate you up

I've been here so long without seeing you, I imagine you a little different
a little sweeter in your looks and more bitter in your words

And today I remember you soaked in blue sleet in the early morning
January of '84 .... and a sea of mud in your shoes
and me screaming ....:

I want you to give me a gum cosmos
that you take me to Venus in your heart full
of little stories

that we embark on our flight towards that sea of your dreams
