With the reputation I earned being a loudmouth
I can throw away a few years,
and when the world comes to ask for my forgiveness
I won't pay it any mind.

If I made hate my true religion,
I don't know how to live any other way,
and when the world offers me an explanation
I won't accept it.

If I can be a rock and roll idol,
a spoiled and pampered brat,
Why is it that all of a sudden everyone’s my friend?

Someone tell me what it might cost
to sacrifice an idea
just to shove aside all these explanations.
