Me Vine Pa'l Norte

I came to the north
Looking for a future
With a hope of arriving here
I crossed through poverty but I don't regret it
I feel proud, I'm poor and happy
Years passed and I among poverties
Went out to seek a living
And at the borders I met the people
Who risk their lives to get here

And on this side I became disillusioned
What is suffered here due to lack of English
And with my poverty, my most faithful friend
Working hard made me understand

Goodbye, I thank everything in this life
Although I was very poor, I lacked nothing
Of great flavors
I keep memories
Memories that I carry in my heart

I worked very hard helping my parents
Because those are the customs
That the old man gave me
And when the town festivals
Arrived
Singing and dancing
I was happy

And on this side I became disillusioned
